About Codefest

Codefest 2024, organized by Code for Change, is thethird edition of the biggest Hackathon in Nepal, which intends to build a technological solution for any of the selected 7 SDGs viz. SDG 3,4,5,9,11,13, and 16 , by the students pursuing bachelors in technology in Nepal.

It is a dynamic event in which students who are highly interested in IT can learn new concepts, discover new ideas and garner knowledge in the domain of technology which will help them boost their interest and confidence in technology and help them shape their future in this exciting field.

Event Theme

The CodeFest 2024 is based on the 7 out of 17 SDGsSustainable Development Goals

Good health and well-being

Product may relate to mental or physical health, fitness, yoga, medical MS, healthy food,etc.

Quality Education

Product may relate to Online Learning Student MS, Online library, compare sites, Smart classroom, etc

Gender Equality

Product may relate to women empowerment platforms, gender related problem solving platforms.

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Product may relate to startups like pathao, e-sewa, e-commerce site, Employee MS(attendence system), EmergencySystem.

Smart Cities

Product may relate to pollution meter,traffic system, households MS, online transportaion, map management, tourism, waste management, community/culture

Climate Action

Product may relate to reuse/recycle, eco-friendly ideas, pollution tracker, climate awareness app, plastic use elimination.

Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions

Product may relate to Decentralized banking, anti-corruption, decentralized governance (blockchain), crime report app, etc.

Event Execution

The event will be organized in two different phases.

Provincial level competition

Teams can register representing their college or form team of individuals.
Each team can have 2-4 members in it
Teams will be competing with the ones from their province.
All the teams from a province will compete against each other and the winning team from each province will be selected for the National Competition(Finale).

National level grand finale

At minimumtwo winners from each province, and9�from Province III (making it21(min.) ) will compete against each other in the Grand Finale (48 hours) ,which will take place in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu.
